What is each product for?

Every Edgeport plan comes with different features that allow you to customize your web strategy.

Accelerate

As part of the acceleration scope, a wide variety of services are provided to help the application handle the requests correctly, enabling it to provide the best performance and optimal user experience to the end-user. The following is a description of its components and purpose:

  • Application Delivery Network (ADN)

Handles the site acceleration and delivery of the main domain, such as www.example.com. It accelerates the dynamic requests and provides the ability to cache them on the edge. ADN also supports ESI blocks.

    `

By enabling your web product to be delivered through our network, you have the option to activate an additional security component that comes on top of the ADN, which is called Origin Cloaking - this allows you to limit the security of the origin's firewall, to accept requests only from our network. As a result, an impressive increase in the security of your origin systems occurs. This means that you are not exposing your network to direct Layer 4 attacks.

  • Content Delivery Network (CDN)

With the platform's acceleration of static assets, your web product will be faster and more reliable, having parallelized downloads to boost your application performance.

In addition, you can manage and monitor more efficiently. You can split the dynamic from the static requests for a more cost-efficient distribution and better overall management.

  • Cache

There is a toggle button that allows you to enable static or dynamic caches. We support predefined edge rules based on the type of application, such as WordPress - this allows us to skip requests to the origin for dynamic requests that meet specific criteria. For example, logged-in users or eCommerce checkout experiences.

As a result of caching on edge, you can reduce the utilization of your origin servers, improve the performance of your application and increase the capacity of your infrastructure to handle requests.

Secure

There is a wide range of services available to protect the security layers of an application. This means that the user can quickly adapt the security strategy according to the specific business needs, without being an expert or possessing extensive knowledge of the security layer of the application.

  • Event Management

There is a modern dashboard within the platform that can be used to monitor and identify threats and attacks that may occur within the platform. You will be able to monitor all the events that have happened from the last 5 minutes to the last 30 days.

This allows you to analyze and comprehend in greater detail the origins and methods of the attacks. Also, you can view the top 10 events that are currently being handled.

In upcoming releases, we plan to extend the filtering capabilities.

  • Web Application Firewall (WAF)

With a toggle action button, you can enable the Web Application Firewall (WAF), which automatically applies the security profiles based on the type of application.

Additionally, you can request customizations from our support team, such as blocking sanctioned countries.

Please note that the Enterprise plan is fully customizable and adapted to enterprise applications and APIs.

  • Rate Limiting (RL)

With a toggle action button, you can enable Rate Limiting (RL), which uses rating rules to automatically manage the number of requests per second to your web application.

When static assets are distributed from the ADN rather than the CDN, they will be excluded from the rate-limiting request count.

  • Bot Management

With a toggle button, you can enable Bot Management, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technology to determine if it's a user, a good bot, or a bad bot. By default, all well-known legit bots are allowed, including Facebook, Linkedin, and GoogleBot.

At this stage, it is necessary to activate the WAF and Rate Limiting so you can enable Bot Management.

You may also whitelist IP addresses or a subnet up to /22, to bypass the security checks. This applies automatically to all security components.

Route

Edgeport currently supports only zone management, but we plan to add also support for DNS load balancing and failover DNS powered by application-aware health checks.

  • DNS Management

When using the dashboard, you can easily manage the DNS records for your web application as well as monitor the requests that are being delivered for your web application from a single point.

Observe

You can manage your system's activities and logs extensively through multiple features available that facilitate their management more efficiently.

  • Real-time and historical stats

You can analyze your traffic and debug your application errors nearly in real-time, or use historical mode to go up to three months back. With this kind of information, you can gain geographical insights and application awareness. For example, we provide analytics for visits by country/city and if requests were delivered to the end users or not.

  • Real-time log delivery

With our advanced panel, you can have insights about all the transactions of the application for security, and delivery in nearly real-time. Additionally, you can filter by metric or combination of metrics and analyze transactions as a whole or individually.
